Here's what some of the participating educators had to say about their experiences:

"For me, it sealed the deal that students ARE curious, and DO want to know about options beyond high school. Experiences like this vs. seeing a video or talking to a teacher don't come close to the reality experience."

"Hopefully to raise student awareness that the real world is coming."

"Simply exposing kids to different careers is a step in the right direction."

"It merely reiterated the need to expose our students to experiences that they don't get any where else. I had kids ask where UNO was located. They are extremely sheltered and need many opportunities to see what is out there for them."

"I learned some of the perks and benefits of going to a local school. This enables me to help students make good decisions by explaining all of their options."

"I found it to be interesting and educational for students as well as staff. I was unaware of the different jobs at the zoo."

"I liked for the students to be aware of the schools in the area and their offerings."

"When you think of the zoo, you think of animal trainers, first and foremost. The behind scenes tour really brought to light the fact that there are a variety of jobs at the zoo."

"I thought the students I chaperoned looked at post secondary education in a new light. They also saw some career opportunities they probably never thought about before. Several of them were discussing career paths we did not see, but they were still interested in. They were thinking about their post secondary plans, on the bus ride home."

"The exposure to the wide variety of careers at the zoo was very interesting. Our zoo guide was proof that a wide variety of interests and exposures leads to a wealth of knowledge."

"What I liked best was hearing the conversations that the students were engaged in during the bus rides to and from. They were great students!"

"I liked that students were transported to UNO - now they can all say that they have been on a college campus. I thought the idea of going somewhere gave the students the idea that we think it is important enough to take them."

"Personally I liked the comparison of the tuition costs...but that is because I'm a parent."

"What I like best about the experience was that it was well organized."

"The zoo employees were extremely professional. I learned several things that I did not know."

"The trip was well organized, fast moving, and easy on the chaparones and students. Great job!"

"I liked the energy of the presenters at UNO."
