Spring 2009 IT Job Shadows Overview, Choices and Registration
The following job shadows are available to students who attended the IT Expo on November 11, 2008. Job Shadow availability is on a first-come, first-serve basis. All job shadows will be in groups ranging from 6 to 12 students. Please review the following opportunities and select your top three choices. At the end of this page is a link that you can follow to sign-up for the IT Job Shadows. When you sign up please provide your top three choices. If your first choice becomes unavailable then you will be given your second or third option depending upon availability. YOUR JOB SHADOW EXPERIENCE IS NOT FINAL UNTIL YOUR SCHOOL CONTACT NOTIFIES YOU.

CyaNetSports - Create Your Own Video Podcast
- What to expect: Meet and talk with CyaNetSports employees. Learn about their business and day-to-day activities. Ask questions during a personal Q&A time. Bring your own personal video footage, create a 5-10 minute video podcast and publish it to the web to show your friends and family.
- Time frame: 9 a.m - 2 p.m. Student will be notified of date via school contact.
- Students per experience: 4-10 students
- Location: Glenwood, Council Bluffs or Omaha
- Lunch: Bring a sack lunch.
- Dress: Business Casual
- What to bring: A DVD or VHS of some previously shot personal or school-related video footage. Video cannot be copyrighted. Also, pen and notepad.

DARMEDIA - Prepare, Process and Present Images on a Web Site.
- What to expect: Spend time learning about the creative world of web site design. Ask questions and see what's involved in owning a web site design company. Students will also learn how to prepare, process and manipulate images for use in any web site. Students will learn how to use various image preview & display scripts to keep a web site's appearance fresh and current.

- What to expect: Spend time learning about the creative world of web site design. Ask questions and see what's involved in owning a web site design company. Students will also get an introduction to web content management systems and why they are important.

Geek Squad - Learn how to Configure a Wireless Router
- What to expect: Get a tour of a local Geek Squad. Meet some Geek Squad agents and observe computer support and repair in a retail environment. Students will have the opportunity to learn how to configure a wireless router.

Google - Virtual Job Shadow - Learn Google's Core Web Apps
- What to expect: Being guided by Google, CCA will be be providing a fun and engaging experience where students will have a virtual job shadow and learn to use Google's core web applications. Students will also learn what it is like to work at Google. Meet a Googler or join in on a web video conversation with a Googler.
