Here's what some of the participating students had to say about their experiences:
McKayla - Thomas Jefferson "The Expo made me learn that there are many opportunities to succeed in entrepreneurship, as long as I get out there and look for the right connections, and willing to learn more about the risks and factors of entrepreneurship."
Tyler - Lewis Central "I learned that all you need is motivation. Having the desire to get it done. Risk losing it all in the process of winning it all."
Devin - Tri-Center "I really enjoyed attending the Entrepreneurial Expo. I learned how you need to be motivated and confident to have any chance at succeeding as an entrepreneur."
Jameson - Shenandoah "I learned that people who have started their own business have a desire to do what they want. Instead of what someone else wants. Also that you have to decide to build on your idea before some one else does."
Trevan - Fremont-Mills "I have had some experience starting up my own small business creating websites for people, but right now I'm kind of in a rut. I've got a few customers but I really don't know what to do from here. Well, the expo opened my eyes a bit to how to take my small business to the next level. I learned how important marketing is for an entrepreneur. It was awesome to hear the guys talk about how they started businesses from scratch and now are CEO's of multi-million dollar companies. That they started!"
Jacob - Glenwood "It helped me a lot in the areas of managing money and the process and risks in starting my own company."
Brenton - Shenandoah "This expo, really made me stop and think about what I really wanted to do. I've always wanted to run my own business, and I feel that this expo really helped me understand the risks and how to get the connections with people so I can make a successful business."
AnnaLee - Shenandoah "I think it was a very great experience and has me interested in something that I never would have thought of going into. I'm very intrigued by entrepreneurial things now. THANKS!!"
Tyler - Shenandoah "I think the value that I got out of the expo is invaluable. It changed the way that I think and it changed the way I look at things. I also think it taught me to listen more and think slightly less, and to also think more about what I want to do with my life."
Adam - Shenandoah "I learned a lot about being an entrepreneur that I didn't know before the expo. I learned a lot from when Ben talked."
Chelsey - Shenandoah "The Entrepreneurial Expo focused my attention on something I enjoy: using my creativity. I value this experience because it is part of the process of figuring out what I want to do throughout the rest of my life. "
Amanda - Thomas Jefferson "I had a lot of fun at the expo. I learned a lot about entrepreneurship. Although I am not planning to start my own business, I enjoyed the expo. Ben Casnocha was interesting and I very much enjoyed his view of living an "entrepreneurial" life. "
McKayla - Thomas Jefferson "I liked Jim the best. He really opened our eyes to the good and the bad factors. I also like how he told us to get an attorney because there is so many hidden documents out there that we don't know about."
Devin - Tri-Center "I enjoyed attending small sessions, but the best part was listening to Ben, the main speaker. He had a great story and presentation. He also related things well to our age."
Jameson - Shenandoah "The work shops. They provided how to get started and what it takes to. Which made it seem less scary to start my own company."
Trevan - Fremont-Mills "I really liked breaking up into the four groups. There wasn't a large amount of people in the groups, which was good."
Jacob - Glenwood "Personally I liked the fact that all the speakers were from or had some association with Glenwood."
AnnaLee - Shenandoah "I like the different workshops, and I liked that nothing was too long. It was not a boring day!!"
Adam - Shenandoah "The food was good, and the speakers were interesting."
Chelsey - Shenandoah "The thing I liked most about my Entrepreneurial Expo experience was hearing Ben Casnocha speak. Besides being a wonderful public speaker, he also had some encouraging insight on entrepreneurship in the business world."
Amanda - Thomas Jefferson "Ben Casnocha's presentation and book."
